Condition
This photograph, on double weight paper with a pleasing slightly green tonality, is in generally very good condition.
There is some surface soiling in the dark area near the bottom and in the upper left corner. In raking light, the following are visible: a few linear scuffs, including one measuring 1-1/2 inches to the left of the sitter's torso; and several tiny deposits of likely original retouching. Upon close examination, 4 small handling creases are visible, the longest measuring 2-inches. These generally do not appear to break the emulsion and have been professionally reinforced on the reverse. There are also a few small creases at the upper right corner that appear to break the emulsion, and there is minor edge chipping.
The reverse is faintly age-darkened and soiled. '95:17' is written in an unidentified hand in pencil at the lower right corner and there is a cross shape in red crayon.
