Description

  • Cloisonne enamel
in the shape of quails standing on gilt legs with their heads turned to the left and right, brightly enameled with blue bodies and white breast feathers, their wings and tail feathers brightly enameled with white, turquoise, red, yellow and green, mounted on square gilt-metal bases; together with a pair of cloisonné enamel quail censers and covers, mounted on square gilt-metal bases (6)

Condition

From the left to the right of the catalogue illustration: A. The cover is warped & does not fit very well on birds. There are losses to the enamels. There is a wear to the gilding. The base is slightly wobbly. B. Good overall condition. There is wear to the gilding. C. The beak is warped. The cover is glued to the body. There is pitting to the enamels. The bird is fixed to the base with new screws. The left leg is restored/restuck. D. The cover is glued to the body. There is pitting to the enamels.
