A l’œil nu : Les tableaux se présentent dans un état de conservation visuellement satisfaisant. Ils ont tous fait l’objet d’un rentoilage réalisé dans la seconde moitié du XXe siècle, correctement réalisé et qui a bien préservé la matière crayeuse de la détrempe. On remarque sur certains d’entre eux quelques fragilités de matière ainsi que quelques petits manques. On remarque des restaurations essentiellement dans les ciels. La cohérence visuelle est toutefois préservée. Sans cadre A la lampe UV : On remarque d’importantes restaurations intervenant principalement dans les ciels et l’eau sur les 12 tableaux. To the naked eye : The paintings are in a visually satisfactory condition. All have been correctly relined in the second half of the 20th century, and the tempera’s chalky matter has been preserved. On some of them, we notice some weaknesses and small losses on the matter. We notice some restorations, specially on the skies. Otherwise the visual coherence is preserved. Sold unframed. Under UV light : We notice some important restorations specially on the skies and the water on the 12 paintings.

Andrea Locatelli, painted various series of oval landscapes with figures. Our artist was most probably inspired by the series kept in the Della Seta collection (Rome), for which he had depicted the frames in Trompe l'œil (see A. Busiri Vici, Andrea Locatelli, Rome, 1976, p. 97 ill. 114 to 118, cat n° 189 to 192).
