Condition

The canvas is lined. The painting presents a decorative image that reads well in the foreground where the white chicken is. Some of the details in the background, especially in the shadows, are a little harder to discern. There are some scattered scuff marks with associated loss along the edges possibly due to old framing. There is some inconsistency to the surface of the canvas above the small chicken at right, and at left of the center chicken. Inspection under UV shows some scattered retouches on the foreground, like for example on the soil, as well as on the background, like for example on the brown cock and the clouds in the sky. The painting is offered in a gilded wooden frame.
