Description

  • The bridge at Mâcon
  • oil on canvas

Condition

The canvas has been relined. The paint surface is relatively clean. Ultra violet inspection reveals retouching in the margins and throughout the sky to mask the pattern of craquelure, and some minor strengthening to the riverbank. A layer of discoloured varnish is also evident. Overall the condition of the painting is good and stable. The work is offered in a carved gilt wood frame.
