- Portrait of Margaretta, half-length, in a white dress and blue cloak; Portrait of her sister, Frances, half-length, in a blue dress and pink cloak, both daughters of John Bampfylde (1691-1750)
- the former inscribed on the reverse of the canvas: Margaretta Ela / Daughter of / John Bampfylde; the latter inscribed on the reverse of the canvas: Frances second / Daughter to John / Bampfylde.

Condition
The canvases have both been relined. The paint surface is relatively clean and there is a fine, even varnish. Ultra violet inspection reveals a very few minor, scattered retouchings throughout the painting. Overall both paintings are in very good condition. They are offered in a carved gilt wood frames in very good condition.
