Condition
The canvas has been relined, the paint surface is relatively clean and the varnish is clear and even. There is a 1cm. long loss in the centre above the urn, and another slightly larger loss, upper right, above the peacock's head, at the end of a short surface scratch. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals minimal intervention, save for some minor strengthening in some of the birds' plumage and the peacock's eye, as well as some minor retouching in the sky and lower right corner. In overall good condition. Offered in a carved and gesso gilt wood frame in good condition.
