Condition

The panel is uncradled, flat and stable, made up of two horizontal planks, with supportive canvas along the join on the reverse. The painting is dirty with a discoloured varnish. There is discoloured retouching along the join and scattered throughout the painting, largely to disguise areas of the wood grain, and a small area of scratches, lower centre. These are revealed under ultraviolet light. In overall fair condition. Offered in a later Dutch style frame with ripple moulding in very good condition.
