Condition
The canvas has been relined. The paint surface is clean and the varnish slightly discoloured. Under ultra violet inspection an uneven layer of varnish is evident. Furthermore retouching is visible throughout the dark tones in the floral decoration, and throughout the woman's clothing and in her surrounding foliage. Overall the painting is in stable condition. The work is offered in a moulded gilt wood frame.

The figure in the centre of the composition appears to have been added by an as yet unidentified hand. We are grateful to Dr Fred G. Meijer for endorsing the attribution of the still life to Everbroeck on the basis of digital photographs.
