Provenance
Anonymous sale, New York, Sotheby's, 15 January 1993, lot 245, where acquired by the present owner.
Condition
The canvases are unlined, the paint surfaces are clean and the varnishes are clear and even. The bright colours and details are extremely well preserved. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals very few, minor retouchings, the most notable of which is a small damage in the steps lower left of the former. The paintings are otherwise untouched and in overall very good condition. Offered in glazed, carved and plaster gilt frames with only minor losses.
