Condition
Overall, the condition of the metal of both bolts is good, with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. Both panels were cast in sections, and slightly open joints are visible. Both engraved panels are slightly loose within the metal frames, but stable. There is some tarnishing and slight corrosion to the metal in areas, in particular to the backs.There are some minor nicks and scratches, in particular to the edges and corners. The latch on the bolt with the Arms of France is slightly stiff.
