Condition

Laid down. Some light brown staining at the lower left corner and a few small fox marks in upper section of sheet, barely visible. General condition is good and colors still fresh and strong. Sold in a gilded frame.

Catalogue Note

The game ‘Ninepins’ probably originated in continental Europe during the Middle Ages. It was brought to America by early Dutch colonists, but it was supplanted there in the mid-19th century by the tenpin game.
