Condition
Overall the condition of the wood is good with some dirt and wear consistent with age. There is minor evidence of past worming including around the terrasse. Two sections at the front of the terrasse are carved separately and are probably later. There are a few minor losses, including to the Christ Child's proper right little finger, and a section of Anne's drapery on the proper right side at the bottom. There is some stable splitting to the wood consistent with the material, notably a slightly open but stable split running vertically across St. Anne's face and another slightly open split to a piece of drapery at the back to the proper left side. There is some dark staining to the front of the sculpture, which is particularly visible at the chest on the proper left side.
