The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's.This surface of this work is slightly dull. The copper plate shows slight distortions around the edges and in the corners. The paint layer seems to be very healthy and stable. There are restorations in the sky, particularly in the upper left corner. The paint layer otherwise seems to be very healthy, and all of the details within the birds still remain very well defined. The work could be hung in its current condition.
