Jan van Kessel the Elder

The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's.This work is on copper plate which is flat. The surface is very slightly uneven. Under ultraviolet light, one can see small retouches in the light background addressing tiny blemishes. The insects themselves do not seem to have been retouched and are very clearly in healthy condition. The work should be hung as is.
