Condition
The board is sound. Unexamined out of the frame. There are a few spots of loss to the surface layer of the paper, there are some areas of rubbing and the board is knocked in a few places, including along the edges, all of which are in keeping with the Artist's working method. There are extremely minor losses to the paint around the edge of the aperture, possible inherent to the Artist's working method. There are very fine cracks along the edges of the collage element, with one or two tiny resultant losses. There is a small area of cracking around an area of loss towards the upper edge of the paper. There are some lines of craquelure to the black pigment on the paper, with some resultant flecks of loss. There are elements of studio detritus to the work. Subject to the above the work is in very good overall condition.
Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of restoration.
The work is held within a simple wood frame under glass.
