Condition

The canvas appears original and sound. The collaged tissue paper, paper and net elements appear to be sound and securely attached to the canvas, apart from some slight lifting to some of the edges in places. There is some uneveness to the surface of the collaged elements in places, thought to be in keeping with the artist's techniques, including some very minor instances where the tissue paper may have torn slightly as a result of the uneven surface beneath it. There is a very tiny line of craquelure to the upper area of white pigment at the left side of the composition. The adhesive may have discoloured slightly. There is some slight flattening to some of the raised elements and impasto tips of the work. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in very good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals some fluorescence to some of the pigments, which are thought to be in keeping with the Artist's materials. The work is presented in a simple painted wooden frame.
