Condition

The sculpture appears sound. There is some very slight rubbing to some of the protruding edges of the bronze, including some variation to the patina and some possible rubbing to the upper left side of the figure's face. There is a possible old crack or casting imperfection which runs around the top of the figure's left leg, with a possible further old crack or casting imperfection to the top of the figure's right leg, at the front. In places the surface of the bronze is very slightly pitted, thought to be as a result of the casting process. There are some traces of plaster and surface dirt in the crevices in places, and there are one or two spots of minor oxidisation. There may be a slight possible scratch and dent to the rear right corner of the base. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in good overall condition. The work is freestanding. There is some masking tape adhered to the underside of the base. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
