Condition

The board is sound, with the collaged element securely attached. There are some fine lines of cracking to the collaged board, in line with the grain of the wood. There are one or two small losses to the wood between the drilled holes. There are fine lines of craquelure where the board meets the frame, as well as scattered fine lines throughout, which are in line with the grain of the boards. There is evidence of the Artist's re-working to the tip of the upper black horizontal line. There are minor handling marks to the painted inside edge of the frame, as well as in places towards the extreme edges of the board. There are a few tiny specks of studio detritus in places and minor spots of dirt and specks of staining. Subject to the above the work is in very good overall condition. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a small area of possible retouching to the extreme bottom right corner.
