Provenance
Acquired directly from the artist by a private collector who taught at the Goethe Institute in Kolkata circa the early 1970s. They developed a close friendship and continued to correspond after the collector moved back to Austria
Thence by descent to the present owner
Condition
There are small losses and holes across the surface of the sculpture which are most likely natural casting flaws. Some of the moulding wires are visible around the seated man and two holes are present at the edge of the boat where the man sits, which appear to also have been created during the artistic process. This sculpture is in good overall condition, as viewed.
