Publisher's russet buckram gilt, plain endpapers, top edges gilt, other uncut. Original acetate jackets; a few with minor chips. Publisher's board slipcases, all save one with original printed label; lightly soiled, one box a bit bumped.

Catalogue Note

The Wilderness Edition, designed by Elmer Adler, number 120 of 770 sets signed by O'Neill on the limitation page of the first volume. The prefatory "Note[s] for this Edition" that appear throughout above O'Neill's name were in fact written by his editor at Random House, Saxe Commins. A virtually as-issued set.
