Ruby and diamond ring, Chaumet, 1940s

Set with a cushion-shaped ruby weighing 3.65 carats, the mount and shoulders embellished with step-cut and baguette diamonds, size 53^1/2, partial French assay mark.

Accompanied by a Chaumet certificate of authenticity dated 21 March 1945; together with SSEF report no. 96109, stating that the cushion-shaped ruby weighing 3.65 carats, measuring 9.52 x 9.45 x 4.25mm, is of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating. Partial French assay mark for platinum. Ruby red of medium strong saturation, with typical inclusions, some surface-reaching, minor abrasions and nicks. Gross weight approximately 11 grams.
