Condition

Unexamined out of the frame. The sheet appears sound and to not be laid down, but attached to the backing board in a few places about the edges. The edges of the sheet are deckled, in keeping with the Artist's materials, which has resulted in a few tiny inherent tears to the extreme edges. The sheet is very slightly cockled in places. There are fine lines of craquelure to the brick red pigment, and some areas of minor reticulation and pitting to the pink pigment. Subject to the above the work is in very good overall condition, with a richly textured impasto surface. The sheet is float mounted and held within a simple black wood frame under glass. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
