Condition
The canvas is original and unlined. There are a few lines of fine craquelure to the lower third of the composition, including a crescent shape across the dog's right leg. There are some instances of very light surface dirt and matter. This excepting the work appears to be in very good overall condition.
Inspection under ultra violet light no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching.
The work is presented in a simple black frame.

Catalogue Note
The canvas appears to be original and unlined. There appears to be a scratch on the reverse of the canvas which has resulted in a raised arch of paint on the recto. There appears to be some cracking to the paint above the gentleman's head and below the dogs proper left paw. There one or two accretions and so very light surface dirt and matter. Subject to the above the work is in overall excellent condition.
Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of florescence or restoration.
The work is presented in a simple wooden frame.
