Condition

The board appears sound. There are some scuffs and scratches to the surface of the work, with some resultant losses to the paint in places, most apparent in the upper left quadrant, to the wing of the central red plane, and to the sky in the upper right corner. There is some slight frame abrasion and very small flecks of loss in places around the extreme edges of the board, most apparent towards the left side of the upper horizontal edge, and there is a tiny crack to the tip of the board in the bottom right corner. There is some surface dirt, studio detritus and matter in places, including some traces of adhesive around the extreme edges of the board. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals some areas of fluorescence, which are thought to be in keeping with the artist's materials. The work is float mounted and presented in a simple wooden frame with linen slip. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
