Condition
Original canvas, the canvas is a little slack on its stretcher. There is a small push at the centre left of the canvas.
There are some very fine lines of cracquelure visible to the work in places. There is some unevenness to the paint surface in places, most apparent around the edges of the canvas, with some associated extremely tiny specks of loss. There are some minor instances of old frame abrasion around the edges in places. There is some surface dirt across the work.
Ultraviolet light reveals some small spots of retouching to the brown and ochre pigments in the lower left corner, and to the blue pigment in the lower centre, with one or two extremely tiny possible flecks elsewhere. These have all been very sensitively executed.
The work is presented in an ornate wooden frame.
