Condition

The sculpture appears sound. There is some slight variation to the patina, most noticeable on the legs and back of the shepherd. There is also some slight losses to the patina throughout the back, shoulders, chest and legs of the shepherd. There is a small scratch to his proper left ankle. There is a casting imperfection to his proper right knee and to the muzzle of the lamb. The surface of the bronze is very slightly pitted in places, most likely as a result of the casting process. There is some surface dirt and matter including to the crevices. There is a material under the shepherd's right heel, this is in keeping with the artist's techniques. Subject to the above the work appears to be in overall good condition. The sculpture is mounted on a 5 cm high sandstone plinth.
