Condition
Unexamined out of frame.
The board appears sound. There is a visible irregularity to the weave of the canvas, running down the left hand side. There are light traces of reticulation in the dark maroon pigment in the bottom right corner, and a small instance of possible craquelure to the top shoe, only visible upon very close inspection, but this excepting the work appears in very good overall condition.
Ultraviolet light reveals a few very tiny specs of fluorescence and probably retouching to the centre of the extreme right hand edge, and a few further smaller scattered spots to the red background. These have all been very sensitively executed.
Housed behind glass in a thick white wooden painted frame. Unexamined out of frame.
