Chancery folio (265 x 195mm.), 219 leaves (of 220, without initial blank), [a8 b-i10; k-l8 m6; n-o10 p-q8; r-s10; t-x10 y8; z10 [et]8], 32 lines, 2- to 6-line initials in red or blue, gothic type, red and blue paraphs, red initial strokes and underlining, nineteenth-century blind-stamped mottled calf over thick boards, spine gilt in compartments with morocco lettering-pieces, occasional light staining, a few small wormholes, extremities slightly rubbed

Catalogue Note
A CRISP COPY OF THE EDITIO PRINCEPS, printed shortly after Thomas's death in 1471. ISTC lists 30 copies, but we have not been able to trace any recent sale records. For another work from this press, see lot 183 [Hieronymus].
This copy has the letters "g g r" stamped at the end of the last line of leaf [s]10, at the end of "De vera compunctione cordis", in a typeface different from the rest of the text.
