Catalogue Note
A TALL CRISP COPY. Johann Sensenschmidt was the first printer to set up shop in Nuremberg, in around 1470; this is the first book he produced in partnership with the "corrector" Andreas Frisner, who later became rector of the University of Leipzig. Sensenschmidt moved to Bamberg in 1478, it is presumed because of the competition from Anton Koberger, who starting printing shortly after Sensenschmidt.
