Catalogue Note

A short book reusing Amman's woodcuts from Feyerabend's edition of Du Fouilloux's Neuw Jag und Weydwerck Buch (also 1582; see lot 67), each supplied with short verses in Latin and German. Feyerabend's preface talks of this "bequem Büchlein" providing Amman's fine woodcuts in a small and portable format. It was reprinted in 1592 by Feyerabend's heirs.

This copy is lacking the one woodcut (of stags fighting) which was produced specially for this edition, rather than being copied from the Du Fouilloux book.
