Condition
This work has never been restored. The paint layer is unvarnished. It doees not seem to be noticeably dirty. There is a very slight milkiness to the paint layer in the dark ochre and blue surrounding the white element. This is a symptom of the paint layer drying, and it is certainly not an issue. There is an area of instability and cracking in the center of the bottom edge that needsd some consolidation. This area does not interfere with the signature or date. There is very little actual paint loss at present, and the condition is still extremely good. (This condition report has been provided courtesy of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.)
