This work is in very good condition overall. The canvas is unlined and well-stretched. The media layer is stable. Two fine vertical lines of craquelure measuring one and two inches in length respectively are present in the lower left quadrant, in the area of white impasto to the left of the path. A 3/4 inch diagonal white scuff is present in the center right quadrant of the work, in the lower part of the black mountain. A two-inch diagonal area of minor craquelure is present in the lower left quadrant in the black edge of the path. A few additional fine lines of craquelure measuring less than one inch in length are present in the extreme upper left corner along the edge of the canvas. A one-inch vertical scuff is present in the lower right quadrant in the brown edge of the path. Under ultraviolet light examination, a concentrated area of spot accretions becomes apparent in the lower left and center quadrants of the painting.
