Condition

This work is in good condition overall, taking its age into account. The media layer is stable. A light layer of soiling is present throughout. A few minor areas of paint loss are present in the following locations: a 1/2 inch diameter spot in the extreme upper left corner, a one-inch vertical loss at the extreme upper right corner, two one-inch and one two-inch horizontal losses along the extreme upper right edge, two one-inch spots along the extreme lower right edge, and a few isolated spots along the extreme left edge. Under raking light, two perpendicular lines of fine craquelure become apparent in the upper central quadrant between the faces of the figures, each measuring three and a half inches. However, the media layer in this area is stable.
