Condition
This work on canvas is unreinforced. Given the heaviness of the paint layer and the vigorous technique, the original paint layer has developed some cracking. There are slight waves in the canvas on the right edge and some raised cracking in the orange color on the left side. Under ultraviolet light, one can see a restoration in the upper left, measuring about half an inch square. In the lower right, there are retouches beneath the curved horizontal mark, and some retouches in the light colored horizontal mark on the right. In the center of the heaviest impasto in the center of the right side, there are two or three fairly significant restorations, which have been applied to eliminate some paint losses. The restorations are well applied. Given the lively texture of the work, it is not recommended that the painting be lined, but some attention to the most unstable areas of cracking may be appropriate.
