Condition

This work has never been removed from its original stretcher. There are no structural damages. The canvas is still well stretched. The painting does not appear to have ever been cleaned or varnished. Although it reads very strongly under ultraviolet light in many areas, there does not appear to be any retouching or damage. It is not recommended that the work be varnished, and the paint layer is certainly clean enough to remain as is. There is one small loss near the center of the work, which requires a small amount of filling and retouching. (This condition report has been provided courtesy of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.)
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above.
