Condition
The canvas has been wax relined. There is lively impasto to the surface of the canvas, notably in the figure and to the right background. There is frame abrasion arout the canvas's periphery. There is some fine light craquelure to the paint in a band (measuring 2 in. wide) across the upper edge of the canvas. There is further fine craquelure to the lower left corner, the center of the left edge and the lower right corner. When examined under UV light there is no evidence of any restoration or retouching. The pigments have a natural fluorescence which is visible. The painting would benefit from a light clean. The work is in good condition.
