Condition
The canvas is not lined. There is a layer of varnish preventing the UV light from fully penetrating, however examination reveals no evident signs of retouching. There is some craquelure visible, primarily to the sky, and some pigment shrinkage in places. There are some minor spots of paint loss to the pigment between the trees and sky at the centre of the composition and to the upper part of the right edge, and a further minor spot of paint loss to the green pigment of the trees towards the upper part of the left edge. This work is in overall good condition.
