Reference 5140 was launched in 2006 and initially produced in white gold only. A year later, in 2007, it was made in yellow gold and, since 2010, in pink gold and platinum. The Reference 5140 replaced the popular Reference 3940 which had been in production for 20 years. The 5140 is 1.2 mm larger than its predecessor.
