Condition
Oil on canvas, unlined. The picture surface is in generally good condition aside from a minor, stable web of craquelure visible over the picture surface. Minor surface dirt and dust. Under UV light, the majority of the picture surface is obscured by a thick, green fluorescing varnish that obscures the picture plane. Larger areas of retouching are visible along the left edge; at right upper edge; and above the rabbi's head. The skin tones of his face and hands and the white papers on his desk have been cleaned of the green varnish. Framed and ready to hang in its current condition.
