Condition
Overall in good condition. When viewed in person, the wood presents with rich figuring and a slightly more red color than seen in the catalogue illustration. The wood surfaces have been sensitively revarnished and present with a few surface scratches, minor abrasions, edge dents, small areas of discoloration and a few minor old restorations throughout consistent with age and gentle use. The back of the upper edge of the backrest of each piece with some evidence of white paint residue. One of the armchairs with a small rectangular restoration to the vertical proper right edge of the backrest, adjacent to the seat, under the nail.The pieces have been reupholstered in a dark blue grey leather which is in good condition with some minor surface scratches, light rubbing, minor surface soiling and minor discoloration consistent with age and gentle use. The front edge of the seat of the settee with a small evidence of white paint residue, visible in the catalogue illustration. A very elegant suite in good condition.
