Condition
Overall in very good condition. The rug presents with scattered specks of brown color inherent to the material and part of the design. The surfaces with residual fibers consistent with age and gentle use. Some minor areas of circular staining, as partially illustrated in the catalog, and the largest approximately 1 ½ by 1 in. One side with shallow impressions likely from a piece of furniture, when it was previously used in Jacqueline Fowler's house. A section of one corner measuring approximately 4 7/8in. with seven small notches in the material, possibly part of the design. One thread is slightly loose at one end. An unusual textile work by Eileen Gray with excellent provenance.
