Condition

Overall in good condition. Both lamps present with minor nicks and scuffs as is common and consistent with age and gentle use. One of the bases with two hairline cracks which have been professionally and sensitively stabilized, one on the front panel (approx. 6 ¾ in.) and a second on the proper right panel (approx 2 in.). This base with five drilled holes for wire positioning at the base. The shade of this lamp with minor surface soiling at the seams as is common with age. Due to the current positioning of the wiring the shade sits faintly askew. Both the base and shade have minor separations at the seams which does not affect the integrity of the work. Please note this lamp presently has a European plug. The other lamp with a hairline crack on the front panel radiating from the proper left corner, measuring approximately ¾ in. The base of this lamp with four drilled holes for wire positioning at the base. Please note Sotheby's does not guarantee the functionality and/or the voltage compatibility for electrical wiring, and suggests having all electrical components inspected by a licensed electrician. A playful and Surrealist iteration of French 1970s design.
