Condition
Overall in very good, age appropriate condition. The wood surfaces present with a few scattered surface scratches, a few faint water marks to the seat, and minor scuffs, dents and nicks throughout consistent with age and gentle use. The top of the seat with one more visible scratch, approximately 4 ½ inches long, towards the center. The proper left lower corner of the seat with a small area of losses along the edges, the largest approximately 1 ½ inch as well as small white paint residue. Along the free-form edges, there are two areas of wood infill at the back and one at the front, likely from the time of production and remain consistent with the grain of the wood. The hickory spindles have a slightly darker stain to them than what is visible in the catalogue illustration. A well proportioned example of Nakashima's "Conoid" series which has remained in the family of the original owner since it's commission. This is sold together with a copy of the invoice.
