Condition
Overall very good condition. The glass shade with a few, very small air bubbles and particulate inclusions inherent in its production and common for this material. An small area of rubbing which likely occurred when the shade was installed, concentrated near the head of the serpent. The bronze serpent and ball feet with minor scattered oxidation. The marble base with minor scattered surface scuffs and hairline scratches, and a few chips to the lower edges of the base which are not visually disruptive. An area to one of the upper corners of the base with what appears to be an older repair, measuring approximately ½ x 1 in. and is not visually disruptive. While both of the period, the shade and base are possibly a marriage. A very good example of this important and iconic design.
Height of base: 2 1/4 in.
