Condition
Overall very good condition. The wood surfaces appear to have been sensitively revarnished at some point in the history of the chair and present with some surface scratches and minor edge abrasions consistent with age and gentle use. The lateral edges of the back with a few mirror chips adjacent to the vertical edges and minor evidence of infill, visible in the catalogue illustration. The edges with some wear to the staining, notably to the front corners of the seat and the cross bars, consistent with gentle use. The rush seat is original and presents with minor wear, discoloration and light surface soiling consistent with age and gentle use. A great example of an iconic design by Mackintosh.
