Overall very good condition. The damascene shade displays rigorous wave-form decoration on a vibrant green background. The exterior of the shade is richly iridized, imparting the shade with strong luminosity and brilliant jewel-tone hues when viewed with reflected light. The top aperture rim of the shade with minor shallow surface chips around the circumference, quite commonly seen in these lamps and not at all visible when the shade is installed. The shade with a few air bubbles and minute particulate inclusions, inherent in the making and not visually detractive. The base displays with a rich russet brown patina with light surface scratches, minor abrasions, a few scattered areas of discoloration and oxidation, and minor surface soiling consistent with age and gentle handling. The favrile glass ball decoration at the top of the base appears to be original and presents with a few scattered air bubbles and minute particulate inclusions, inherent in the making and not visually detractive, and very minor light surface scratches. The ball displays with an iridized surface which is highly complementary to the damascene shade. The base plate is lacking one small screw which does not affect the stability of the base. The socket and paddle switch appear to be original. A very charming and unusual composition with a nice scale.
