Description

  • Rosewood dalbergia
each frame top of standard miter, mortise and tenon construction, with exposed tenons on the short sides of the frame, enclosing a hard-mat seat, supported underside by a straight transverse stretcher, the molded frame above a recessed waist and straight beaded apron, over square-section legs beaded to the inside edge, joined by beaded humpback stretchers and ending in hoof feet (2)

Condition

The stools are in overall good condition. There are small scattered chips to the beaded edges. There has been general consolidation to the joinery some of which include small patch repairs. There are tears to the matting of both seats as shown in the catalogue illustration. The surface is a bit sun bleached on the top and there is wear and repair consistent with age and use. Please note that this lot will require a CITES permit for export outside of the United States.
