the heavily potted square-section body with tapered rectangular sides rising from a splayed foot, the tapering shoulder panels rising to a flared neck and a galleried rim, each of the four sides boldly painted in famille-verte enamels and gilt details with pairs of Daoist Immortals demonstrating magical powers, the foot, shoulder and neck with cartouches enclosing grisaille landscapes and bird and flower scenes, reserved against wave, prunus and diaper grounds, with further diaper borders to the neck and rim

Condition

The body and enamels structurally sound overall, but with some fritting along the vertical joins, rim, and foot. One repaired chip on the foot and a repaired crack on the interior of the neck. Minor firing imperfections and some gilding worn away.
