the baluster body rising from a spreading foot to a tall cylindrical neck and garlic mouth with everted lipped rim, the body painted to one side with a shaped cartouche enclosing a scene of a scholar and attendant in a landscape, and to the other side with an arrangement of antiques and auspicious emblems, with a twelve-character inscription above reading bogu fengsheng suijiu shiwan qixiang zengxin (although there is a long history in collecting antiques, recently a new collecting trend emerged), followed by a painted seal impression, the base with a seal mark reading Gu, the neck with cloud scroll and ruyi borders

Collection of Heber R. Bishop (1840-1902), and thence by descent. 

Condition

In overall good condition with only minor firing imperfections and expected wear to the footring and surface (including a few fine scratches to the glaze).
